Work not included in the quotation


Unless agreed by us, we will not:

  • Dismantle or assemble furniture of any kind. Please contact us should you need dismantling and reassembling of your furniture we will be happy to provide a cost.
  • We do not dismantle or reassemble cots under any circumstances.
  • Disconnect, re-connect, dismantle or re-assemble appliances, fixtures, fittings or equipment.
  • Take up or lay fitted floor coverings.
  • Move items from a loft.
  • Move storage heaters unless they are dismantled.
  • Dismantle or assemble garden furniture and equipment including, but not limited to: sheds, greenhouses, garden shelters, outdoor play equipment, and satellite dishes (please contact us should you need dismantling or reassembling).

Our staff are not authorised or qualified to carry out such work. We recommend that a properly qualified person is separately employed by you to carry out these services.

If we do any of the above we are not liable for any damaged.

Your responsibility​

It will be your sole responsibility to:

  • Arrange proper protection for goods left in unoccupied or unattended premises, or where other people such as (but not limited to) tenants or workmen are, or will be present.
  • Prepare adequately and stabilize all appliances or electronic equipment prior to their removal.
  • Empty, properly defrost and clean refrigerators and deep freezers. We are not responsible for the contents.
  • Ensure any large pictures and mirrors are adequately protected for transportation if you are not having our packing service.
  • Ensure all boxes that are pack by you are securely sealed and not over flowing or so over filled they cannot securely carry the contents weight or protect the contents.
  • Ensure the contents to be moved have been taken to the vehicle and to check the property prior to vacating that the removers have all the correct items to be moved and nothing is left behind.
  • Provide us with a correct and up to date contact address and telephone number for correspondence during removal transit and/or storage of goods.
  • Ensure that all domestic and garden appliances, including but not limited to washing machines, dish washers, hose pies, garden bin, house hold bin, petrol lawn mowers are clean and dry and have no residual fluid left in them.
  • The entrance or exit to the premises, stairs, lifts or doorways must be adequate for free movement of the goods without mechanical equipment or structural alteration, or the approach, road or drive is unsuitable for our vehicles to load and/or unload within 10 metres of the doorway as this results in additional resources, additional charge.

Lincs Removals must be notified about access at all properties e.g. three story houses, floor of flat, basements, height/weight/width restriction, slopes or steps to the properties. Failure to do so may incur an additional charge.

Extra items to be moved that we have not been notified about may incur an extra charge.

Please note our insurance will not be covered when being removed from storage by another company.

Please make sure all items are packed and ready to be moved prior to the arrival of the removers. Our removers will not take items that are not ready for the removal.


However T.V’s and monitors must been shown to be working prior to removal.

Lincs Removals accept no responsibility for damage or loss of property after the job is complete, any damage must be brought to our attention before we leave.

****Payment is to be made in advance by bank transfer but we must have the cleared funds in our account no later than 7 days prior to commencing your packing service /removal. We CANNOT accept payment by cheque. If paying via credit card we ask for payment no later than 10 days prior to commencing your packing service/removal. If no payment is received Lincs Removals reserve the right to release the dates to another customer.

****Extra charge from £30 will be required if travelling through the London congestion charge zone, low emission zone or extra low emission zone.

Parking and parking permits must be arranged in advance by the customer.

Parking fines must be paid by the customer to the driver on completion of the job.

Please note our insurance will not be covered when items are being removed from storage that another company has put into storage.

Other than by reason of our negligence or breach of contract, we will not be liable for any loss or damage, costs or additional charges that may arise from failure to discharge these responsibilities.

Please note our insurance will not cover weathered outdoor goods.

Your responsibility when going into storage

It will be your sole responsibility to:

  • Declare to us, in writing, the value of the goods being stored. If it is subsequently established that the value of the goods stored is greater than the actual value you declare, you agree that our liability will be reduced to reflect the proportion that your declared value bears to their actual value.
  • Arrange adequate insurance cover for the goods submitted for storage
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that nothing that should be removed is left behind and nothing is taken away in error.
  • Empty, properly defrost and clean refrigerators and deep freezers. We are not responsible for the contents.
  • Provide us with a correct and up to date contact address and telephone number for correspondence during removal transit and/or storage of goods.
  • Ensure that all domestic and garden appliances, including but not limited to washing machines, dish washers, hose pies, petrol lawn mowers are clean and dry and have no residual fluid left in them.

Waiting Time for Keys

There is no charge for waiting times (e.g. delay in accessing the new property caused by the keys not having been made available). If the keys are available to be picked up and you do not give access to the removers to start unloading this will incur charges from £200 per hour.

Waiting beyond 5pm will automatically roll into the next day and will be subject to an additional charge.

Removers must have access to the new property and to have started unloading by 5pm, after this will automatically result in a charge from £200 per hour.

Lincs Removals cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions which cause a delay or cancel a removal from going ahead.

Goods not to be submitted for removal or storage


The following items must not be submitted for removal or storage and will under no circumstances be moved or stored by us.

  • Prohibited or stolen goods, drugs, pornographic material, potentially dangerous, damaging or explosive items, including gas bottles, petrol, firearms and ammunition.
  • Any animals, birds, fish, reptiles or prohibited plants.
  • Goods which require special license or government permission for export or import.

If you submit such goods without our knowledge we will make them available for your collection and if you do not collect them within 14 days of written notification from us, we will dispose of any such goods found in the consignment. You agree to pay us any charges, expenses, damages, legal costs or penalties reasonably incurred by us in disposing of the goods.

We have a ‘Goods in Transit’ insurance policy. In our hands your goods are covered for up to £20,000 per vehicle. It is the customer’s responsibility to arrange an extra insurance if required. An extra insurance can be arranged through our sales office and charged accordingly. Please note our insurance will not cover weathered outdoor goods.

Job arrival times are estimated. Although we always do our best to be on time, circumstances out of our control may cause some delays.

Charges if you postpone or cancel the removal


If you postpone or cancel this removal, we charge accordingly, “Working days” refer to the normal working week of Monday to Friday and excludes Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

The notice periods are:

****As soon as the removal is confirmed: Loss of deposit.

5 working days before your packing service/removal is due to start: up to 100% of the removal charge. “Working days” refer to the normal working week of Monday to Friday and working times 9am to 5pm and excludes Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

Date changes made at any time may incur an additional charge.

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
